Having a mantra can be a powerful shield against stress. Pick a word or phrase that has meaning to you and have it ready to go when you encounter difficulties, conflicts or challenges in life. I like this one, “I choose to be calm. I choose to be clear. I choose to respond from my values.” Make up your own mantra and pack it with you mentally wherever you go. If you aren’t prepared when stress hits, you will simply revert to your reptilian/emotional brain’s responses under stress – and likely do something stupid, reactive and counterproductive to what most serves you. Having a mantra management plan is like having a personal body guard who can protect you from harm and keep your rational brain from being hijacked by life’s inevitable stresses. Good luck.
